Personal information

I completed my PhD in Psychology at UNSW Sydney. I held postdoctoral appointments at the Penn Center for Neuroaesthetics (University of Pennsylvania), and at the University of Sydney. My research lies at the intersection of empirical aesthetics. vision science and experimental cognition.
At Mi3 Lab (LMU), I study how the dynamics of information processing when looking at artwork in the museum. I integrate eye-tracking and computational methods, including AI-based sentiment analysis, to study aesthetic experience in ecological valid contexts. In parallel, I lead the development of an augmented reality application for digital health, supported by a grant from SECIHTI (Mexico), with AI-enabled smartphone eye tracking.

Research interests

  • Empirical aesthetics
  • Visual perception and eye-tracking
  • Digital health and well-being
  • Urban aesthetics and human experience
  • VR and Augmented Reality

Current projects

At LMU, I investigate how people engage and visually explore artworks at the Pinakothek museums in Munich. My research examines how information about artworks and the museum context shapes viewing strategies. I am also interested in identifying whether distinct gaze patterns predict viewer engagement and its characteristics.
In collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania, I am developing an augmented reality application for digital health, integrating AI-enabled smartphone eye tracking to support evidence-based health interventions in Mexican vulnerable communities.
